A symbol of love, passion and romance, a red rose is the Valentine’s Day flower. 12 red roses presented to your loved one on the 14th February is your declaration of year-round love and romance, a tradition which has been around for centuries. Roses are sure to be everywhere this week however, not all are created equally!
We take great care to only use the best cut flowers in all of our hand-tied bouquets and Valentine’s Day is no exception. We only buy our flowers from reputable growers and importers and can chart the journey of our beautiful Explorer roses from field to vase.
Quintessentially English, with beautifully manicured lawns and hedges, a wedding in the walled garden at The Four Seasons, Hampshire is always special. We were delighted to work with a lovely couple, Sophie & Lukas, to design their wedding flowers.
We reflect back on this beautiful summer wedding with the wonderful images from Pippa Mackenzie.
Elegant and timeless with a soft, delicate colour palette, from buttonholes to bouquets, urns to table decorations, the floral designs complemented the beautiful venue and this wonderful couple.
At Moutan we pride ourselves in finding the best of British brands knowing that you enjoy supporting all that this fair isle has to offer. We hunt high and low to find suppliers who mirror our desire for quality and even more so when it comes to finding fragrances, bath & body items. Plum & Ashby meet our exacting requirements and we’re delighted to offer a range of their products in our Odiham and Farnham stores.
Moutan Florist, Borelli Yard, Farnham opened their doors on 19.09.19 continuing the long tradition of a flower shop in this historic courtyard. Julie Allen and Charlotte Pye are delighted to offer Farnham the Moutan signature style of beautiful hand tied bouquets, plants, home and garden wares and accessories.
Flowers are with us throughout many of our important stages in life and some have cultural or religious significance. Indeed, colour combinations or even the way in which bouquets are tied and presented have associated meanings. Floriography (the language of flowers) has developed over thousands of years and was a particular passion of the Victorians who were said to communicate emotions through the exchange of flowers.
Why, when we have year-round choice from imports, buy British flowers? Quite simply we want seasonal fragrant flowers which support local growers that balance and fit perfectly with our other flowers and foliage coming from further afield. It’s a great combination which affords us the luxury of the best of both worlds.
We love a wedding. Nothing beats working with couples to make their dreams a reality and yet we do not work alone! Behind every wedding is a team of people who rarely meet and yet we all have one single vision: to make the day as wonderful and memorable as we can…
